Pains of Being Pure at Heart Music Video - "Young Adult Friction"

"Young Adult Friction" is Painful to Pure Hearts

Despite the fact that their sound has been compared to Belle and Sebastian and the Smiths, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart are not for everyone. It's not that their music is particularly abrasive or showy, or that they are offensive in any way. Its more that to some their brand of simplistic pop songs will sound like the "new hipster thing" or just simply sound boring. With a name like they have its almost a guarantee that the masses will inevitably be split, one half finding it pretentious, the other endearing. I for one (obviously), am in the second camp.

The video itself continues TPoBPAH's habit of playfully romping around while visually implying nostalgia via old film. The song is "Young Adult Friction" which for me currently has the second most iTunes plays of any track on this album. Check it:

If you dig, just wait until July cause the Brooklyn band will be playing at the Capitol Hill Block Party which recently announced their lineup (oooh Deerhunter!).
