The Croc's Grand Reopening
Beware Captain Hook!The Croc Chomps
Once More
As previously reported, The Crocodile Cafe is reopening. If you didn't hear, the story went like this: after closing down in 2007 due to financial difficulties we were sad. Now we have to be sad no longer!

The reopening festivities begin thursday and consist of two nights of free music from all local bands. Thursday night features a lineup ranging from the psychedelic Hypatia Lake, to the poppy popsters The Quiet Ones. My personal favorite is in the middle, the playfully unsettled The Kindness Kind. Being from Seattle as they are, their music sounds rainy without going over the top depressed. Friday features a lineup of heavier music including Akimbo, and Brothers of the Sonic Cloth. Both nights are 21+ which means you can get your drink on while enjoying the remodeled show space (no pesky pole), skylights, dining area and (ooh!) brand new plumbing. According to The Stranger's Line Out weblog, "the Crocodile has expanded and improved its legendary sound system, and completely updated the lighting rig" as well. What's more, the Croc is serving super delicious pizza from Seattle fav Via Tribunali now too! Well, that sure does sound exciting.
In the words of managing owner, Marcus Charles "the Crocodile has always been about local bands and community, not the superstars that the room has been lucky to host.” That said, I can't think of a better way to re-welcome the beloved venue back into our music community.
